SharePoint Migration Services, Powered by AI
Move to SharePoint Online without dragging legacy problems along. We combine expert guidance with powerful AI tools to make your migration cleaner, faster, and more cost-effective.
Our AI-powered advantage
Here’s how AI helps our migration process:
Code Generation and Testing: Use GitHub Copilot to write and validate code for migrations and integrations faster, including databases, unit tests, and automated testing.
ROT Detection and Cleanup: Analyze large data sets to detect and eliminate ROT (Redundant, Obsolete, Trivial) before they clutter your new SharePoint.
Information Extraction and OCR (Optical Character Recognition): Use AI including Azure AI Services to turn unstructured documents into structured, searchable and usable data.
Automation with SharePoint Premium AI features: Cut down time on routine steps like tagging, metadata extraction, and report generation.
A Blueprint for Migration Success
We aim to make migration to Microsoft 365 as smooth and low-impact as possible.
Our migration services include:
Pre-Migration
Pre-migration planning involves reviewing content with AI to identify ROT and duplicate content, We also complete a site mapping for SharePoint Online and a permissions and security strategy to plan future collaboration scenarios.
During Migration
During migration we use AI tools including SharePoint Premium (previously Syntex) to provide automated metadata tagging and content classification. Migration typically includes moving documents, list data, legacy SharePoint content, and file shares, or other systems such as OpenText. We come with hundreds of tested scripts to move content from a variety of systems.
Post-Migration
As part of implementation and migration activities, we can tackle key integrations with your systems, or with Power Platform to add automation and enhancements to Microsoft 365. We provide post-migration training and support as users are getting used to the new system and content organization.

What sets Gravity Union apart?
We use what works
We use Microsoft-native tools, GitHub Copilot and AI models to automate migration. Where necessary, we use tried and tested tools like ShareGate for large-scale migrations to Microsoft 365.
No vendor lock-in
By combining a preference for native capabilities with the selective and strategic use of AI-driven custom solutions, we deliver the functionality organizations require without locking them into costly or inflexible vendor ecosystems.
Tailored solutions
Leveraging AI-assisted development allows us to tailor solutions precisely to the client's needs, while maintaining flexibility, scalability, and cost efficiency over time.
What can we migrate?
We have experience moving content and workflows from a wide range of systems into SharePoint Online. Our projects have included migration from:
Network drives and file shares
Cloud services including Box, Dropbox, and Google
Legacy ECM platforms including OpenText, Laserfiche, FileNet and more
Custom or in-house built systems
SharePoint Server (on-premises) to SharePoint Online
Microsoft OneDrive to SharePoint or Teams
Between Microsoft 365 tenants (tenant-to-tenant)
If it stores files or business data, we’ve likely moved it.

The problems of "lift and shift" into SharePoint and Microsoft 365
Lift and shift from your current environment into Microsoft 365 and SharePoint can be worse in the long-run. Notably, the ‘lift and shift’ approach doesn’t take the time to restructure, rework or re-think how you’re organizing your content. Learn why you need to “do it right the first time.”
