Financial Coordinator

Full-time or Part-time, Vancouver

Gravity Union is looking for our newest Financial Coordinator! This is a full-time or part-time position based primarily onsite at our office in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The expected salary will be adjusted accordingly if the candidate is part-time or full-time based on expected hours of work, with flexibility based on experience and skillset.

About the opportunity 

We are a growing company looking for someone who is detail oriented, organized, and passionate about finance to join our team. As part of our Finance team, A Gravity Union Financial Coordinator will work closely with our Bookkeeper, Project Managers, CEO, and VP as necessary to support our financial and administrative functions by ensuring accuracy in billing, maintaining compliance with accounting systems, and coordinating with project teams to streamline financial operations at Gravity Union.

As a Financial Coordinator, your day-to-day includes:  

  • Process payroll, benefits, vacation, and GST remittances

  • Process invoices and statements

  • Support with tax management and documentation

  • Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Being responsible for accounts payable and receivable activities

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and forecasts

  • Prepare and analyze budgets

  • Track and follow-up to resolve discrepancies in banking transactions, invoices, and receipts

  • Monitor and manage the finance email inbox, responding promptly to queries and escalating issues as needed

  • Collaborate with our Bookkeeper, Project Managers, CEO, and VP as necessary

  • Contribute and support finance process improvements

  • Supporting internal organization initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

Are you the one?

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and other computerized accounting systems (proficiency in QuickBooks Online preferred)

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong business communication skills, both verbal and written

  • You’re adaptable and able to go with the flow when things change

  • You enjoy keeping up to date on the latest financial best practices and regulations

  • You love to learn new things and learning excites you

  • You know how to have fun!

Icing on the cake

  • CPA designation

  • Working knowledge or experience within the technical consulting or IT industries

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • MS-900: Fundamentals certificate or additional Microsoft certifications

  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
